Happy Thanksgiving! Today I am thankful for so many things! Most importantly, I am thankful for my family and friends. Today I slept in (much needed and very thankful for that). I woke up and headed to Nana's house to lunch! This year was the first year in many that we haven't been at the beach for Thanksgiving so celebrating at Nana's was new. Thanksgiving lunch was amazing, as always. I opted out on the Black Friday shopping Thursday night but did a little bit Friday afternoon. After experiencing Black Friday at the beach and Harbison, I must say the beach definitely beats Harbison Boulevard. We still found some good deals so I'm not complaining! A cute little pup named Sadie celebrated her first birthday on Thanksgiving day! I am very thankful for her and her sweet owner! I enjoyed getting to spend the day before Thanksgiving with her awesome family and getting to ride along with them when they went to pick out their tree. I am so very thankful for the Morgans and how close we've gotten and how many memories we've made over this past year. I am very thankful for everything this past year and I'm so so so thankful for my wonderful family and parents. I'm so thankful so say there is another successful Thanksgiving in the books!
LAST WEDNESDAY I CAME HOME TO THE BEST NEWS EVER! MY LITTLE BLACK ENVELOPE WITH MY NAME SWIRLED IN GOLD INK HAD FINALLY CAME! FOR MONTHS I HAVE BEEN STRESSING ABOUT NOT GETTING IN TO MY DREAM SCHOOL, ANDERSON UNIVERSITY BUT ALL MY WORRIES ARE FINALLY GONE AND IT FEELS SO GREAT. OUT OF THE FOUR SCHOOLS I APPLIED TO, ANDERSON WAS AT THE TOP OF MY LIST. I LOVE THE LOCATION, THE SIZE, THE CAMPUS, EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! I WILL BE A LITTLE BIT FARTHER AWAY FROM HOME THAN I WOULD LIKE TO BE BUT HEY, IT COULD BE ALOT WORSE! NOW THAT I HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED, I AM BEGINNING TO SEARCH FOR ROOM MATES AND DORM SUPPLIES :) I'M SO EXCITED TO SEE WHAT GOD HAS PLANNED FOR ME AND MY NEXT FOUR YEARS AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SPEND THEM AT AU! LET MY JOURNEY (AND SENIORITIS) BEGIN!
Sadly, my Chapin Tennis career officially came to an end tonight. Although it was depressing, it was a fun night and one I'll never forget. I received the "Most Improved Player" award for the second year in a row now and also received a "most likely to make her opponent cry" award. I hate that it is over, but I've had a great run with Chapin Tennis and I wouldn't trade it for anything!
Where to even begin....I'll start by saying I am SO proud of this team and these girls. We had an amazing season but sadly it came to an end today. The good news is that we played a full season and made it all the way to the STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS which the girls team hasn't done since 1998!! We had a 20-3 season which we are so proud about! We were the number two seed and We beat three number one seed teams on our way to the state championship, including last years State Champion Travelers Rest. We lost to A.C. Flora twice during our regular season and then came back to beat them in the fourth round of playoffs on their courts to knock them out of the playoffs and advance Chapin to state. Sadly, we fell 2-4 to the Myrtle Beach Seahawks this morning but every one of us played our hearts out and I wouldn't trade my six years with Chapin Tennis for anything! [ even a ring ;) ] I've made so many memories this year (and years past) and it was truely awesome to end my Chapin Tennis career at the State Championships. |
